Your files never leave your device
Dropkit is built differently from most online file tools. Instead of uploading your documents to a server, every tool runs inside your browser using WebAssembly builds of trusted open-source engines.
What we process
Your files are read into your browser's memory, processed there, and handed back to you as a download. They are not sent to Dropkit or to anyone else. Closing the tab erases them.
What we store
Dropkit keeps a small, optional activity list (tool name, file name, sizes) in your browser's local storage so you can see recent work on the home page. It never contains file contents and never leaves your device. You can clear it at any time.
Open-source engines
PDF rendering by pdf.js, PDF editing by pdf-lib, encryption by qpdf, image encoding by MozJPEG, libwebp and libavif, HEIC decoding by libheif. Fonts used by the PDF editor are open-licensed (SIL OFL / Apache 2.0).
Coming with Pro
Some future Pro features (like Word ↔ PDF conversion) need a server. When you use them you'll be told clearly, files will be encrypted in transit and deleted automatically within one hour.
